Wishful Heart won his 2nd race on the Vaal Sand on Tuesday 7th July 2015 over 1200m for Owner Mario Ferreira. Not much can still be written that hasnt been written before about Piere Strydom’s magic when he rides for the LGRS yard. With about 250m to go, Wishful Heart came under pressure from the second favourite the Mike De Kock trained Kosava. Striker remained as calm as ever and kept Wishful Heart balanced and focused for the run to the wire without having to resort to using the whip, which in turn gave the 4 yo gelding the confidence to dig down deep. Wishful Heart was bred by Rob and Michelle Pickering at Middlefield Stud and this win took his earnings to R182000. As always, the LGRS team extends their thanks to Owner Mario Ferreira and to MF Racing’s manager Des Gonsalves for their valued support of the yard.
